The Magic of downloading with your WINMX

How to do a search on WinMX by Cheryl.

You want to do a search for something on WinMX but don't Know how to?
That's ok, this guide will hopefully walk you through the basics.

To begin Click on "Search" on the top of your WinMX.

Type in to the search bar the name of the file you want.

In this case I want "Superhero Movie" so that's is what I type in.

We know its a Movie we  Click on "MP3Audio - Any Bitrate" then select "Video (.avi .asf .mpg .mpeg)

Now Click on search and wait for all the files you selected to finish loading up.

Right Click the File name you want with your mouse then Click on Download.

When a File turns red and appears to show not available that don't all ways mean you can't start your download, Click on the   found just before your file name, when you have clicked it the icon will look like this

Or if you see it light up purple, Right Click it then select "Enter Remote Queue"

If you see "Queued Locally" in blue Right Click the users name and click on "Start Transfer"

You can find more sources by right clicking your download, Click on "Auto Find Sources - " and make sure there's a Dot next to "Every 10 min"

If yours is set like this "Auto Find Sources - 10m" then as you are downloading, every 10 minutes  it will automatically search for other users that are sharing the same file.

These settings WinMX will find automatically duplicate file types without u going to look for them.

Here's how to download from another user in a chat room

You have now entered in to Smokey's n Cheryl's aka Mom's Nut House.

Notice there is a User List on your right hand side.

In the user list you can browse other users all you do is right click on another user in the list and click "Browse"

Ok now you are browsing all the files that this user is sharing.

When you find the file you want Click on it.

Some times you have been downloading a file then you reboot, notice this users file is showing a blue colour this is telling me that is the file I was in the middle of downloading so if I click on it I should carry on from where I left off.

Now the ART of Piggy backing for similar files to obtain faster download....

When files are light blue on multiple users, you can piggy back to get additional bandwidth to increase the download speed.

(that's why its good to belong to a movie room)
